Supported Macs

If you have a MacOS device deployed after July 2022, it will be running the University Supported Mac platform.

"Supported" Macs get useful University tie-ins such as automatically configured access to University printers; Uni VPN, MS Office Suite, access to extra University software apps; contact details for University people; encryption and anti-virus facilities set up securely so you don't have to worry about them. It's all maintained automatically and remotely.

This all happens in addition to your normal Mac accounts and software, which you still control. You do still have root rights.

(The term "Desktop" is a little misleading here - it works on MacBooks too. It's not just for desktop Macs such as iMacs and Mac Minis.)
