In Informatics we use AFS for most file storage. It's authenticated (via kerberos) with load balancing, local caching, and global access. (Historical note: this document describes why we chose AFS.)

Informatics offers a choice of web services:
A "disk quota" is a maximum limit on the amount of disk space which can be used. Many accounts have a disk quota on their home directory.

To send a document to the edprint queue from the command line do:
lpr filename
Where filename is typically a text, PostScript or PDF file.
For more details, type man lpr into a terminal window.
Alternatively, print your document from the application you used to create it, for example using File ... Print.
