Remote software

"Remote software" is software which you can access and run even when it's not installed on your own computer.
Note that MATLAB is no longer on the list of remote software.

Most of the University's remote software is delivered by Windows Virtual Desktop or by Apps.Ed.

Windows Virtual Desktop

Windows Virtual Desktop can run in a web browser on any computer, or it can run in a Windows Desktop Client app on Windows computers only. Both ways are described at this link:

Apps.Ed

Apps.Ed makes software available either in a web browser, or in an app called Citrix Workspace. Both ways work on a wide variety of computers, including Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android and Chrome. Both ways are described at this link:
