Transferring sensitive data by email

If you must transfer sensitive data by email, consider :-

• encrypting files using 7zip, p7zip, iZip (MacOs), gpg (available on DICE).
• password protecting files - eg MS Office, OpenOffice, Libreoffice, this is not necessarily secure Office documents' encryption.
• if the recipient is internal to the University, rather than send files via email, consider sharing the file with the recipient using OneDrive

IS have instructions for using 7zip.

You should exchange the password separately - e.g. by phone conversation, Teams call.
