Polyommatos is a server that is shared between two research groups (Benjamin Peters and Mirella Lapata's) 4 GPUs belong to Ben's group and 2 to Mirella's both groups of researchers can use the other groups GPUs but they can be preempted at any point.
The server is in it's own partition in the ICF.
polyommatos up 5-00:00:00 1 idle polyommatos
so you will need to specify the correct partition.
To submit jobs you need to choose a qos (Quality of service) appropriate to your research group.
For Ben's group
sbatch --partition=polyommatos --qos=poly_ben job.sh
For Mirella's group:
sbatch --partition=polyommatos --qos=poly_mirella job.sh
if you either wish to use all GPUs, or the other groups if they are not being used then use the poly_borrow qos, either by itself
srun --partition=polyommatos --qos=poly_borrow \ --gres=gpu:2 --pty bash
or if you would like your job to run on poly_mirella but poly_borrow as a second choice then list the qos
srun --partition=polyommatos --qos=poly_mirella,poly_borrow \ --gres=gpu:2 --pty bash
Jobs which are preempted are requeued, we would strongly advise you to checkpoint your jobs.
