Appleton Tower 5.07 teaching studio AV

Overview

The Appleton Tower 5.07 teaching studio consists of one presenter desk and six group desks. All seven desks are equipped with a DICE desktop. In the past the BYOD option allowed using a wireless WePresent technology, this is now obsolete and will not work. Trailing HDMI and VGA leads for directly connecting laptops are also provided at each desk. The output of the presenter desk can be displayed at each group desk.

The presenter desk

Using the control panel on the the presenter desk, the presenter can select from a number of display sources to display on the large wall-mounted display. The chosen source can also be selected for display at each group desk. The large wall-mounted display is touch enabled, so presentations can be driven from the display as well as from the presenter desk.

Display ON Turns on the large wall-mounted display
Display OFF Turns off the large wall-mounted display
PC Selects the DICE desktop as the video source
BYOD This option is obsolete and will not work
HDMI Selects the trailing HDMI lead as the video source
VGA Selects the trailing VGA lead as the video source

The group desks

Using the control panel on each group desk, the user can select from a number of display sources to display on the desk's TFT display.

Button Function
Display ON Turns on the desk's TFT display
Display OFF Turns off the desk's TFT display
PC Selects the DICE desktop as the video source
BYOD This option is non-functional currently
HDMI Selects the trailing HDMI lead as the video source
VGA Selects the trailing VGA lead as the video source
Tutor Selects the presenter desk output as the video source
